About me
I am Yves Kini, and I am currently pursuing my PhD at Anton Pannekoek Institute of Astronomy, University of Amsterdam. My research is centered around the modeling of X-ray pulsations from neutron stars, with a particular focus on Thermonuclear Burst Oscillations sources. The primary objective of my work is to gain insight into the fundamental interactions of matter at low temperatures and ultra high density.
I am mostly interested in tackling intriguing challenges within theoretical and computational (astro)physics. I find a great satisfaction in exploring tough problems.
Before embarking on the PhD journey, I enjoyed a fulfilling five-year tenure as an Air Traffic Controller. This experience was both delightful and memorable, and it significantly enhanced my competence in complex thinking and time management, skills that are applicable to the research field.
